PADSTOW UNITED A.F.C.

Pain is temporary............Pride is forever.

Win a P.U.A.F.C. Polo Shirt

So you think you know the rules of the game, lets find out.

Every week for 12 weeks there will be a question here, about the laws of the game. Send your answer through "Contact Us" each week. At the end of  the 12 weeks the person with the most correct answers will be the winner, and will receive a PUAFC Polo Shirt in their size. In th event of a draw  deciding questions will be sent to the parties concerned, the correct answer will win.The webmaster's decision is FINAL.

Remember: A referee is the only professional on the pitch at grassroots level. He has completed a course, passed difficult exams, and gets paid. The main problem for a  referee is that players think they know more than him. All of the follwing questions a referee will know on the spot. So think about that before you shout at the ref, or better still dont shout at all, because at the end of the day the ref always has the final say, and (Im sorry) but is usually right, players just dont know it.

The 1st question will be printed week comencing Sunday 19thApril

Q1

A player is sitting in his own penalty area putting his boot  back on. the ball is kicked towards goal by an opponent, whereupon the player lifts his boot and uses it to re-direct the ball over the cross bar. What action ,if any, should the referee take ?

Q2

A player shoots towards goal and the ball hits the crossbar. As it does so, it bursts. What should the referee do and how should he restart the game?

Q3

A player is standing 5 metres behind a colleague when the ball comes in his direction. Seeing his colleague move to intercept the ball, he shouts "Leave it!" There are no opponents close to play. What action should the referee take?
