Well the girls are at it!

Emma and Martha are gathering the woman of Padstow to go on a sponsored walk along the Camel Trail.  From Padstow to Wadebridge to Padstow. This will be on a Sat. 21st November when "The Greens" are at home to St Mawgan. There are sponsor forms in the tea Hut at Jury Park, or from most of the committee members. All the proceeds go to the club. They will be down the "Lion" after the game, nursing their wounds. Good luck girls!

During Padstow United Football Club’s monthly committee meeting on September 23rd fund raisers Emma Holmes and Martha Trestain were presented with a cheque for £250 from R.A.O.B Summer Draw proceeds by lodge member Mr Trevor Jones.

On a damp Sunday morning in August (30th) Geoff Spears and myself set off down to Truro in a van driven by Blowsy. We were going to see if we could make the 25 miles from Truro to Padstow Football Club, to help raise money for some training kit. Sean was there to give back up to Geoff and I, incase we had a puncture or heart failure!! We arrived at the traffic lights by the old MFI store (see left) just before nine, and after a little photo call and some some fluids we set off down the hill towards Tresillian and Laddock. A short stop at Laddock for a mars bar and more water ( and to catch our breath) and on towards Fraddon. Blowsy was a brick staying behind to make sure two old codgers didnt get knocked off the bikes, except he disapeared for a while; only to find him at Fraddon scoffiing a McDonalds breaky. I think I would have been ill if I had had some but I did fancy it! A long run along St Columb by pass and a walk for the last bit of the hill towards Winnards Perch. The home leg was in sight and Geoff and I got a second wind, till a guy on a racing bike slowed down to talk and wish us luck, and then vanished out of sight within minutes. Up the hill to High Lanes then downhill to Jury Park for another photo call in 2hours 25 mins. We hope to have raised about £300 when we get all the sponsor forms in.Quite an achievment for two old codgers!
It sounds really easy when you write it!  BIG THANK YOU to Blowsy for giving up his Sunday morning and to Padstow Cycle Hire for the bikes and helmets, and the team for getting the sponsor money!!!!!
